How to create a one to one relationship in MS Access 2007/2010/2013

But when I try and create a relationship between these two tables, it defaults to a one-to-many relationship, which is not what I want, and there's no way to change the relationship type from within this dialog.

So the solution I found is to

  • right click on the table and
  • click "Table design";
  • click on the foreign key field; and
  • down here in the field properties,
  • change the Indexed property to "Yes (No duplicates)".

Now when you save the table and try to create the relationship again, it should say one to one.
